The C12.9 marine propulsion engine is ideal for high performance marine applications including yachts, fishing vessels, military vessels, governmental vessels and various other commercial high performance marine applications. The C12.9 is designed to be integrated with both the Cat Three60 Precision Control shaft line maneuvering and engine control solution as well as other marine industry throttle controls. The electronically-controlled C12.9 is offered in two power ratings: 850 mhp at 2300 rpm and 1000 mhp at 2300 rpm. Both ratings meet EPA Tier 3, IMO II, EU Recreational Craft Directive and EU Stage IIIA regulations. In addition to high power density, the C12.9 offers high torque at low engine speeds and fast acceleration throughout the entire engine speed range due to its air system design of integrated series turbochargers and a supercharger.

The M 25 C, part of the MaK long-stroke engine generation, is based on the proven design characteristics of the M 20 C, M 32 C and M 43 C engine series. The basis is formed by the rigid base frame as a foundation of the engine and alternator with an integrated oil sump, large oil volume and universal equipment for both HFO and MDO operation. The VM 32 E is available as a generator set with a new “flexibly-mounted engine on base frame” design and a wet oil sump solution with a resilient mounting for generator set applications without base frame. In this design, the engine is resiliently mounted on the base frame with conical mounts. The base frame itself is reduced in weight and height to make transport and handling during the installation phase easier. Last but not least, the ship's weight and design will benefit from the lower weight and the smaller dimensions for its entire lifetime, especially on smaller ship applications. The generator is mounted on non-resilient adjustable spacers, which is the most economical way to establish a perfect mounting plane and allows an easy realignment of the generator. As the wet oil sump, the reduced vibration levels will help the crew sleep well during their off shift while the engine is running.
